Camping
Checklist:
To prepare you
for an adventure in the great outdoors we have put
together a camping checklist. Camping lists are fairly
personal and individual so it's really to hard to give a
generic one, but this should get you started. We divide
camping needs into these groups:
1 - Camping
Equipment
2 - Camping Supplies
3 - Toiletries
4 - Clothing
5 - Food
6 - Miscellaneous
Camp Equipment & Camp Supplies might include:
Axe, Batteries,
Flashlight, Broom, Bungie Cords, Camp
Plates, First Aid Kit (Insect Repellant, Bandaids, First
Aid Cream, Snake Bite Kit), Can Opener, Chairs, Folding, Cooler, Cots, Matches (Strike
Anywhere), Hammer, Nylon LIne (50'), Heater (propane tent), Paper Towels, Propane Canisters, Knife, Swiss Army, Lantern, Trash Bags,
Mugs, Coffee, Zip Lock Bags, Pan,
Fry, Pan
Toiletries suggestions:
Pillows, Silverware, Comb, Sleeping Bags, Deodorant, Hair Brush, Sunscreen Lotion, Stove (Propane or Fuel) Folding Table, Tent, Body Soap, Toilet Paper, Plates/Cups for eating, Toothbrushes & Toothpaste, Water Carrier, Lantern
& Oil, and Wet Wipes/Wash Cloth/Towels
Clothing
pointers:
Two pairs of shoes - Pack for the season! - Pack lots of socks, they seem
to need changing often - Always bring a warm jacket
- Add towels and washrags for cleanup.
Food :
Stick to meals that are
easy to prepare with minimal amounts of ingredients
(like Steaks/Potatoes or Burgers), also foods
that are easy to clean up after - don't leave scraps and
food bits to tempt bears and other wildlife to seek out during
the night, for example corn-on-the-cob (burn or throw away far from camp site). Dinner Rolls, boil-in-bag veggies, canned soups,
bagged salad, beverage mixes, drinking water if there will be no source of pure
water nearby.
Miscellaneous: This is where you put things like
books you want to read, tapes you want to listen to,
notebook computers, pen and paper, anything to keep
yourself comfy!
